Traditional boat races had began as a way for sailors to meet and visit one another`s dhows when they had arrived at large ports. To celebrate this history, there were 3 types of races during the Festival:- Old Houri Race, New Houri Race and Al Shash Race.

Taking place over three evenings, the Muscat Fashion Week will consist of a number of boutique shows – exclusive, limited presentations – to make each night an experience.

Naseem Park is packed with  full of events for the family with highlights including fun fairs, electronic games, nearly five hundred stalls, children’s entertainment shows and an education village.
There is  also a handicraft, science and art workshops daily.

Alive with entertainment, children’s shows and plays, the village is a showcase of traditional Omani art and crafts. Designed to replicate a traditional fort, the village includes a working souq, with a variety of stalls to buy woven baskets, pottery and silver as well as to enable visitors to watch experts in traditional Omani occupations at work.

Run in association with the International Congress on Innovation and Creativity in Arts and Crafts, this village is a focal point for the showcasing of handicrafts from across the world, as well as an opportunity to celebrate the expert work of traditional Omani artisans in an international arena for the first time.

Created in association with the expert eyes of chefs and students from the Oman Tourism College, the Oman Food Festival took place during the heart of the Festival from 7 - 17 February.

There will be a series of Omani concerts and plays throughout the Festival.
